Honoring a Legacy: Chief Jim Stanley Retires After 47+ Years of Service
After an incredible 47+ years career with our department, Chief Jim Stanley officially retired on June 30, 2025. His leadership, dedication, and unwavering commitment have left a lasting impact not just on our team, but on the entire Lower St. Croix Valley community.
To celebrate this milestone, an open house was held at the fire station on Wednesday, July 30. It was an afternoon filled with camaraderie, gratitude, and stories from a remarkable career. During the event, the Lower St. Croix Valley Fire Protection District board presented Chief Stanley with a commemorative plaque in recognition of his decades of service.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us—including the many friends, community members, and partners from neighboring departments who came to honor Chief Stanley's career journey. Your presence made the celebration all the more special.

Congratulations to Chief Kris Peterson who retired on July 15, 2017 after 40 years of service on our department! An open house was held at the fire station on Wednesday, July 12. Lower St. Croix Valley Fire Protection District board members presented Chief Peterson with a nice memento recognizing his years of service. Thank you to all who attended, including the many chiefs from our mutual aid partners!
